Finally we have had some sunny and settled weather for the past couple of weeks, as winter does seem to have dragged out for longer this year. We had to keep cancelling days we were going to decorate because of rain and my whole schedule has had to be worked around these decorating days. Continue reading

My Dilemma!
I can honestly say that all I have to write about this time is work (how boring, you probably think to yourself!) Actually it’s not boring because I love and enjoy working on my art, not so much the other work I have to do – but more of that later!
I have a dilemma which I have been pondering over for the past two years. After five successful selling years with too many popular designs to meet demand and not enough time to progress new ideas, I am in a quandary! Continue reading
Almyrida Flooded After Big Storm Hits!
After Nick went back, at first the weather was settled and warm so I returned to my winter job of painting and decorating – all outside work. This time (unfortunately) I did two days of painting awful black railings. However, about ten days ago it all changed and we had horrendous storms that heavy rains and gusty winds had whipped up. Continue reading
Walking in the Snowy Mountains
It seems to me to be all about contrasts since I returned from the UK. Living in Crete is so much less hectic and more peaceful compared with the sheer volume of people, traffic, shops and buildings that I have recently experienced during my stay in the UK. I notice this every year and I have come home again to Crete with a smug feeling of relief and real freedom. Continue reading
A Fab End to 2014 and a Wonderful Start for 2015!
I had the best time in the UK over Christmas and New Year. It was packed with social engagements of quality time with my family and friends. My two weeks were filled to the brim with happiness, laughter, fun and yet more wonderful memories to cherish!
Not one day was I poorly, my preparations for the flights over having paid off, thankfully! What a contrast it was to last year, when I just wasn’t feeling like myself. I couldn’t have asked for a better time. Continue reading
A Very Happy Christmas to Everyone!
I couldn’t return to the UK without a final post, though this will be a very brief one! I leave at the crack of dawn tomorrow and I am just so excited! I am just a big kid really! Continue reading
Getting into the Christmas Spirit!
I have found it very difficult to tear myself away from my work lately. So three weeks has all but flown by again and means I have had to remember everything else that I’ve been doing during that time.
I was fortunate enough to be invited to Jeff and Shauna’s Thanksgiving Dinner again. I say fortunate because only about ten of us received an invite. What a feast and a spread they put on! The turkey was enormous yet somehow Jeff and Shauna managed to cook it to perfection and the whole meal was wonderful – very American! A great evening was enjoyed by all of us! Continue reading
My Blissful Beachcombing Days!
Whatever else is going on in my world, the beachcombing days are always wonderful! This is such a great time of the year for going out on day trips and exploring the many beautiful coastlines here on Crete. Last week I had two lovely days out, first to Elafonisi and then to Falasarna. Continue reading
The Seashell Process
So, what’s been happening in my life these past two and a half weeks? Although I am too pleasantly absorbed in my work to write this blog more often, it’s always nice to reflect back on what I have done and achieved on those days.
Following Jenny’s return to the UK, the weather continued to deteriorate further and we had heaps of rain and thunderstorms. But despite the awful weather, Lisa and I made the effort to ‘partly’ dress up for Captain Jack’s Halloween Party on Friday 31st. Continue reading
Oh the Joys of being your Own Boss!
I know it’s been over three weeks since my last post, but I’ve been busy with ordering tons of new canvases and sourcing seashells from all over the world. I have also made time to do some local beachcombing. Then there’s the small matter (I Jest!) of the time it takes to actually make my seashell mosaics and collages! Continue reading
