A Very Happy Christmas to Everyone!

I couldn’t return to the UK without a final post, though this will be a very brief one!  I leave at the crack of dawn tomorrow and I am just so excited!  I am just a big kid really!

This week I went into Chania with my good friend Ian.  Disappointingly,it started to rain just as we were leaving Plaka, even though it had been a lovely sunny day.  Luckily, by the time we reached Chania, the rain had stopped so that it was pleasant to wander around, taking in all the pretty lights.  I was surprised at the lack of people around but maybe that was because it had just been raining.  I managed to pick up a few stocking-filler gifts for my girls and we had a lovely meal at an outside retaurant (would you believe?!) with a large patio heater next to us and cosy lights everywhere.  It was very festive and I had a lovely night.

Lisa and I had our Christmas night out at Captain Jack’s in Almyrida on Friday.  We didn’t bother eating out but drank plenty of festive wine and spirit!  The following day the weather was lovely and so I had my final beachcombing day of 2014.  I went to Stavros, again with Ian and we spent a very pleasant few hours in the sunshine, collecting seashells and thinking how lucky we were to be living on this beautiful island of Crete.

So I shall finish this brief write-up by wishing all my readers a very happy, healthy and fun Christmas and hope you all get a decent break from work to relax and enjoy this wonderful time of the year with family and friends.
