Everything that has happened during this past month has been completely overshadowed by the arrival of my new baby Grandson, Ralph! Having had two beautiful daughters, a grandson was just what I’d been hoping for and he is just gorgeous! He also shares my own scorpio birth sign, having come into the world on 15th November. I have loved all my Skype calls with Emma – Ralph snuggled so contentedly on her chest and last weekend he was sleeping peacefully on his doting Aunty Zoe’s chest! I am counting the days – only 3 left – until I can hold him in my arms too! I am overjoyed and truly thankful that he is simply perfect! Continue reading

An Absorbing and Busy Month of Crises and Distractions
This past month I have been so totally absorbed in all manner of things that I just haven’t found the time or the inclination to write. I had my last day of selling in Almyrida Bay on October 15th and the weather that day was fine, sunny and hot. I have never worked the beach as late as this, but there were still tourists around and they were still buying, so I sold five pictures that final day. Continue reading
A 50th Birthday and Family Celebration in Cyprus!
I am back on Cretan soil after my sixth ‘Happy Families’ annual holiday with my sisters and my Mum – held this time at Leonie’s in Cyprus. I am well rested and refreshed and am now enjoying looking back on the wonderful week we all spent together. Continue reading
How I love to be a Tourist on Sundays!
Sales of my unique Seashell Mosaics and Collages have been truly mega in August. Reaching a record level again – I have been rushed off my feet work-wise! Among the poplular choices this year have been my little Greek Donkey and small Sailboat designs and, as always, the Baby Turtles Race for the sea. Continue reading
August – the Month for Family Holidays
It’s been a while since I wrote my last post and as always, this is due to the full and wonderful life that I live here on Crete. Apart from August being one of the busiest months of my year, I have also enjoyed a two week visit from Zoe and Rich. Continue reading
All Things Beach.
Down by the beach in Almyrida it is hot, hot, hot! But selling conditions couldn’t be better and for the last month or so the breeze coming off the sea has been just perfect for keeping me cool whilst I work on my seashell mosaics. My summer office is quite idyllic and if I do get overheated then I just put up my ‘Back in 10 Minutes’ sign, grab my towel and go for a quick swim in the sea – how wonderful is that?! Continue reading
Rich in My Quality of Life
These past few weeks The Greek Crisis has been the topic of everyone’s conversations when you meet them. All the Greeks and Ex-Pats who live here on Crete are naturally concerned about all the changes Greece is facing and all the changes the Greek people must make to survive bankruptcy and who knows what else?! Continue reading
The Magic of Matala Beach Music Festival.
Following my successful exhibition in Chania I’ve gone back to selling by the beach in Almyrida. But like the previous two years, June has seen some pretty unsettled weather so far. I completely missed one selling day and the whole morning of another – due to heavy downpours! That said, it now appears to have stabilized and is back to normal with wall to wall sunshine again. Continue reading
My Best Exhibition Ever!
Oh how the time flies by when you are enjoying life! Shortly after Emma and Ash’s return to the UK I received the surprising but wonderful news that I am to become a Nana in November! Emma is going to have a baby! They hadn’t planned for it, having only just set a rough date for their wedding next year, but they are nonetheless thrilled to bits and I can hardly contain my own excitement! So it looks like I’ll be paying an early visit back to the UK this year – to see and be with my first grandchild! Continue reading
Happily Planning for a Big Family Wedding in Crete!
There’s been so much I’ve wanted to write about – but no time in which to do it! My life is always so full anyway but right now it’s all about family. I have exciting news to impart which you will already have gathered from my heading of this post and I shall go into more detail about it later… Continue reading
